How We Rate Online Casinos

The scoring framework behind every PlayIndex casino review.

A useful casino rating should explain what was tested, how the categories are weighted and where the evidence came from. Our framework is designed to keep reviews comparable across markets without reducing every site to a single marketing claim.

The five scoring pillars

Every review uses five broad pillars: product quality, payments, mobile usability, customer support and overall value. The final score is editorial rather than automated, but the same checklist is applied to each operator.

A casino can have a large game catalogue and still rank behind a smaller competitor when the cashier is confusing, the terms are difficult to find or the mobile experience is slow.

  • Product: game range, providers, search, categories and stability
  • Payments: methods, limits, fees, pending periods and withdrawal clarity
  • Mobile: navigation, loading, game discovery and cashier usability
  • Support: availability, response quality and escalation
  • Value: the complete experience rather than the headline promotion alone

Evidence and updates

Editors should retain screenshots, URLs, dates, support transcripts and offer terms for every material claim. When a product changes, the corresponding score and written explanation should be reviewed together.

The site data includes a single global update date for the MVP. A production version can add separate verified dates to every operator and market.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate commission can determine whether a commercial link is available, but it should not silently determine the score. Sponsored positions should be visibly labelled, and the review should explain the strengths and weaknesses behind the rating.

Publishing note

The guide text is production-ready as a structural starting point, but operator-specific claims and market advice should be verified before launch.
